  • The Inter-Réseaux Association

Inter-Réseaux’s funding for its activities comes from diverse sources: French public structures, international organisations, and private French and European organisations.

The Agence Française de Développement (AFD): Since 2007, the AFD has contributed to funding Inter-Réseaux. Heavily involved in rural development in Africa, the AFD has found in Inter-Réseaux a partner able to supplement field operations (information production and dissemination, analysis and documentation, etc.). Since 2011, IR has been financed by the AFD’s NGO Partnerships Division (DPO). In all, the AFD’s contributions for the year 2013 accounted for 37% of the budget.

In partnership with AFDI and Agricord, Inter-Réseaux produced a project over the 2010-2013 period titled “the alliance of agricultural organisations’ networks to promote European cooperation in favour of family farming.” The European Commission provideed 75% of the funding for this project. In 2013, the Commission’s contribution (paid through AFDI) accounted for approximately 4% of the budget.

The Fondation de France and the French Committee for International Solidarity finance Inter-Réseaux’s actions in conjunction with agricultural product marketing through calls for projects under the heading of the “support programme for family farming in sub-Saharan Africa.” Two rounds of funding are underway. In 2010, the contributions of these two donors accounted for approximately 4% of the budget.

SOS Faim Belgium: This Belgian NGO has provided Inter-Réseaux with financial backing since 2006. In 2011, a contract was signed under which Inter-Réseaux acted in an informative role by producing and distributing Briefs on important current issues. This contract extended until the end of 2013 thanks in particular to funding from the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2013, SOS Faim Belgium’s contribution accounted for approximately 2% of the budget.

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA): CTA has provided Inter-Réseaux with financial support for several years; it is a partner that is active in particular on specific topic covered in the framework of the working group on agricultural product marketing. In 2013, CTA’s contribution accounted for approximately 2% of the budget.

SOS Faim Luxembourg: This Luxembourg NGO has provided Inter-Réseaux with financial backing since 2008, mainly on topics such as agricultural product marketing, microfinance and agricultural finance thanks in particular to funding from the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2013, SOS Faim Luxembourg’s contribution accounted for approximately 3% of the budget.

In addition, Inter-Réseaux also mobilises funding from other sources. In recent years, funding has been provided by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Oxfam Intermón, SNV, Veco, Agriterra, and CIRAD. In addition, there are also Inter-Réseaux’s membership dues. More detailed and analytic budget information is provided in Inter-Réseaux’s annual reports.
